What the Remedial Engine is for
The Remedial Engine extends the existing Inspection, Quote and Job architecture. It does not create a second source of truth for certificate findings.
Use the workflow

Open Remedials or the relevant inspection context.

Review the originating observation/finding before planning work.

Create or link the commercial and job records required for the remedial work instead of duplicating the technical finding as a new authoritative inspection result.

Keep customer-facing scope and pricing in the appropriate Quote/Job workflow.

After work is completed, follow the applicable inspection/testing/certification process for the work actually carried out.
Safety boundary
A remedial suggestion, generated scope or linked quote is not evidence that a defect has been made safe. Competent assessment, safe working practices and any required inspection/testing remain necessary.
Common mistakes and troubleshooting
If a remedial item appears disconnected from its source, return to the originating inspection/client and verify you are working in the correct account and record before creating anything new.
- Editing an issued certificate to make it look as if remedial work had already happened.
- Treating a quote description as a technical test record.
- Creating duplicate jobs/quotes when an existing linked record already represents the work.
