VoltMate Community is for useful professional discussion between electricians. These guidelines protect electrical safety, customer privacy, intellectual property and constructive participation without pretending that Community posts are official technical or legal authority.

Do not encourage unsafe live working, bypass protective measures, defeat safety devices or present risky shortcuts as acceptable practice. Context matters: advice should reflect competence, isolation, test equipment, manufacturer instructions and site conditions.
Community posts are member discussion, not the wording of legislation, BS 7671 or another official publication. When a regulatory or standards requirement matters, point readers to the appropriate current authoritative source rather than copying substantial copyrighted standards text.
Do not publish customer names, private addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, access details, certificate identifiers or photographs that unnecessarily reveal personal or security-sensitive information. Remove or redact identifying information before posting.
Technical disagreement is welcome. Harassment, threats, discriminatory abuse, targeted humiliation and persistent personal attacks are not. Explain why you disagree and support technical claims with useful context where possible.
Relevant product or service experience can be useful, but repetitive promotion, scams, misleading affiliations and unrelated advertising are not acceptable. Disclose a material commercial connection when it could affect how readers interpret a recommendation.
Only post text, images and files you created or have permission or another lawful basis to share. Do not upload pirated standards, paid publications, confidential documents or material that infringes another person’s intellectual-property or privacy rights.
Report unsafe advice, materially misleading technical information, privacy exposure, harassment, spam, fraud, infringement or another genuine issue. A report starts an Admin review; it does not automatically prove that the content or author breached these guidelines.
VoltMate may hide, restore or remove Community content and may restrict Community access after review where reasonably necessary to address safety, abuse, unlawful content or a material breach. Moderation does not certify technical accuracy, determine professional competence or replace the electrician's responsibility to work safely and verify current official requirements.
If you believe moderation was mistaken, use the Contact page and choose Community report, include the relevant link or reference and explain what you want reviewed. Reports and appeals are considered on their facts; submitting a report does not guarantee a particular outcome.
