VoltMate Exam Practice is a free signed-in revision tool. It maps original questions to published qualification topics and public assessment information, then gives a practice score and an explanation for every answer.
VoltMate is not an awarding organisation or official exam provider
The practice area is independent and must not be interpreted as an official paper, official mark scheme, endorsement, accreditation or guarantee of a pass. Qualification codes are used only to help identify the relevant learning route.
40-question Practice Tests and realistic Full Mocks
Every standard Practice Test contains 40 original VoltMate questions from the selected route. The selector prioritises unseen questions, balances topics and applies a category-specific difficulty profile, so Level 2, inspection/testing, design, EV, solar, EESS and competence-readiness practice do not all use the same generic mix.
A Realistic Full Mock is separate: where the current public assessment format is verified, the mock follows that route’s lawful public structure instead of forcing every real exam into 40 MCQs. Results show a VoltMate percentage, topic graph and revision priorities; they are not official grades.
What VoltMate can use
• Public qualification titles/codes and publicly stated learning outcomes or assessment format as navigation and syllabus-mapping facts.
• Original questions, calculations, scenarios, distractors and explanations written for VoltMate.
• General electrical principles and independently written teaching explanations.
• References directing learners to current official handbooks, licensed standards and training-provider instructions.
What VoltMate must not publish
• Live, secure or confidential exam questions, practical stations, assessor packs or mark schemes.
• Copied past-paper questions presented as VoltMate questions unless a specific licence expressly permits that use.
• Substantial verbatim text, tables or diagrams from paid/copyrighted standards such as BS 7671 without appropriate permission.
• Awarding-body or standards-body logos, endorsement claims, or branding that could imply an official relationship without permission.
How scoring works
Starter practice sets are scored only as VoltMate revision attempts. After submission, the learner sees the selected answer, the correct answer, why the correct answer is correct and, when the answer was wrong, an explanation of the misconception. The percentage shown is not an official grade or pass decision.
Recent results are currently stored in account-scoped browser storage so they persist across refreshes on that browser while remaining separated when a different VoltMate account is used. A future server-backed history can add cross-device analytics without changing the question-content rules.
Real exam format versus practice format
Some qualifications use multiple-choice tests, while others include written answers, practical assessments, projects or competence demonstrations. VoltMate labels the current starter sets as independent practice and does not claim that an MCQ revision set reproduces a written or practical assessment. Full mock blueprints should only be released after their timing, weighting and permitted-reference rules have been checked against the current public specification.
Using BS 7671 and other standards
VoltMate can teach concepts in original wording and identify the current standard/version, but it is not a replacement for a licensed copy of the standard. Where the real assessment permits or requires a reference book, learners should practise navigation using their lawful current copy and follow the official rules about annotations and permitted materials.
